Methodological and technological developments in the UMR

Working in the deep oceans comes with challenges in accessing the environments studied and implementing certain methodological approaches such as observation, experimentation, in situ fixation. Addressing our scientific questions requires specific technological and methodological developments that constitute an integral part of the UMR’s activity.

Our main 4 challenges are dealing with:

1. In situ sampling, measurements and experiments
2. Habitat mapping, monitoring and in situ imagery
3. Ex situ experiments and analyses
4. Data processing, analyses and archiving
